Cashier
Job Summary
The Cashier must process all cash transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures. The successful candidate will play a fundamental role in achieving our customer satisfaction and revenue growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Greeting customers, answering questions, making recommendations and providing exceptional customer service.
- Itemizes and totals purchases by recording prices, departments, taxable and nontaxable items, operating a cash register.
- Verifies credit acceptance by reviewing driver’s license, operating credit card authorization system.
- Check the IDs of every customer purchasing tobacco or alcohol products.
- Balances cash drawer by counting cash at the beginning and end of work shift.
- Provides pricing information by answering questions.
- Maintains checkout operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Assisting in other duties, as assigned.

Grocery Clerk
Brief Description
The Grocery Receiver will ensure an organized and hassle-free grocery department that includes ordering, pricing, and inventory control. This position will work closely with the store’s General Manager to ensure maximum store efficiency, product availability and quality, excellent customer service, and keep staff morale high.
Responsibilities
- Ensure an adequate supply of products by keeping out-of-stock products to a minimum. Set storage priorities for department staff.
- Receive and process orders.
- Verify product condition and the accuracy of the invoice on all deliveries.
- Ensure the correct rotation of the product.
- Coordinate returns and credit from suppliers when needed and make sure staff know how to do the same.
- Review invoices for accuracy, price changes, and product additions. Process with pricing.
- Respond to challenging situations in a positive and professional manner, including proposing new ideas or better ways of doing things.
- Follow the appropriate health and safety rules for the department.
- Ensure staff are available to meet customer requests and needs.
- Ensure that the equipment and material used in the grocery department receive proper care. Keep the Store Manager informed of repair/replacement needs for material and equipment.
- Work with Managers to establish department marketing, product selection criteria, category management, shelf display, signage, and promotional activity.
- Ensure that department meetings are conducted to maintain effective communication with staff.
- Plan attractive displays. Coordinate displays and specials with visual marketing.
- Cross merchandise with other departments in coordination with visual marketing.
- Comply with all Ideal Market policies and procedures as detailed in the employee handbook and other company documents.
- Work together with supply chain distributors, including Campo Rico, as a source of products and merchandise for the store.
Other tasks as needed.
